​Transcendence: a poetry collection that is at once modern and naturalist, scientific and spiritual. It is a celebration of our lives, of both where we come from and where we’re going. From humanity’s primordial origins to our present time, we have tried to understand the practical and mystical ways we are connected to the universe. From a grandfather’s laugh, to a boy’s magical candles, to a supermassive black hole’s creation, the poems of Transcendence demonstrate that these connections are never completely clear, but always beautiful. Most importantly? Our interconnected nature indicates that we humans have “immeasurable” power over our lives. We are, after all, “something more / than primal.” Our world and our lives transcend our own expectations.

Rachel Peters is the writer of the poetry collection Transcendence (2026) and The Poet's Tarot (2022). She plans to publish science fiction in the near future and is also working on a paranormal project. She holds an Master of Arts in English from Ohio University and works as an English teacher.
